THEORY OF CHANGE
The ASEE KnowlEDGE Initiative theory of change is that inclusive and equitable success of diverse women engineers in academic engineering will result by aligning academic engineering systems [i.e., accreditation, professional society (ASEE lead), and engineering colleges] through fostering transparent processes; informed inclusive and gender diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) decision-makers; and leadership accountability and recognition.
The objectives are organized in the graphic by focus area: ABET, Societies, and Engineering Colleges and include:
- Objective 1 (Accreditation): Promote inclusive Commissioner pipeline & accreditation change advocacy
- Objective 2 (DEI Information): Increase awareness; knowledge; and application of evidence-based gender DEI policies, practices, and strategies to promote systems change
- Objective 3 (Recognition): Provide recognition for work to promote gender DEI and support leadership accountability
