ENGINEERING
COLLEGES
Deans, department chairs/heads and senior faculty can significantly influence the culture and climate of a Mechanical Engineering (ME) department. There are few diverse women faculty in Mechanical Engineering, consequently it is important to align systems of promotion and tenure to mitigate bias in decision making and foster transparency in the promotion process to ensure that the diverse ME women faculty recruited and hired can be successful. As more diverse women achieve tenure, the department culture will be influenced by these women’s success and a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture will result. Proposed KnowlEDGE activities and resource deliverables specific to ME Engineering Colleges include:
- Application for the opportunity to serve as a member of two KnowlEDGE change team cohorts comprised of 4 ME Teams each receiving 10,000/year for two years; Apply Now
